Celebrex ® Information

Celebrex (Generic Name: Celecoxib) is used to relieve some symptoms caused by arthritis such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain. However, this medicine does not cure arthritis and will help you only as long as you continue to take it.Celebrex may also be used for the following problems: Familial adenomatous polyposis (intestinal polyps), moderate or severe pain, such as that resulting from dental or orthopedic procedures, or pain during menstruation

Celebrex Usage:
This medication should be taken once per day with a full glass of water. Should you experience an upset stomach when taking this medication, take your subsequent doses with food or milk. Do not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes while taking Celebrex, as it may cause stomach irritation.

Celebrex Drug Interactions:
This medication may have potentially significant interactions with fluconazole and lithium. Experience with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) suggests the potential for interactions with furosemide and ACE inhibitors. Do not use more frequently than directed. Possible side effects include blood in urine, black stool, blurred vision, difficulty breathing or swallowing, skin rash, hives, redness, cramps, peeling, itching, swelling (eyelids, throat, lips, legs, ankles or feet), unexplained weight gain, yellowing of the eyes or skin, or flu like symptoms (fever, chills, muscle aches and pains). If any of the above symptoms appear, report to a health care professional as soon as possible. More common side effects that do not require medical attention include constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, gas, heartburn, minor upset stomach, nausea and vomiting. Without the prior consent of your regular physician, you should not take this medication with any other types of pain remedies.
